DESIGN METHODS FOR MOBILITY

According to the EC “The way we live and travel is changing. At the same time our transport system needs to adapt to global realities such as climate change and digitalization*.”  In this context, the Design and Methods for Industrial Engineering Technologies play a crucial role in achieving impactful objectives in terms of digitalization and ways of representing and interacting with 3D products, autonomous and connected systems, both in manufacturing and in operational environments. The Design Methods for Mobility field fosters the development of studies which aim to support humans in interfacing with machines so that operations such as geometric modelling of sustainable vehicles or collaborative co-creation of concept of operations and systems for transportation purpose, including training sessions, occur in an environment that is fully inclusive, effectively impacting, and respectful of citizens and workers. To achieve this objective the Design Methods for Mobility field brings together research activities of the associated members in Aviation, Automotive and Maritime modes with the aim of setting a unique place for collecting and integrating results and for supporting the discussion on the main and most update research trends in the Design Methods in such fields. Furthermore, the members of the group support the networking of the research community with the industrial players and with the main research programmes in these fields.
